In my last post I gave my views on a hybrid classroom. What exactly would a school with hybrid classrooms look like? What would be the advantages? Would there be any disadvantages? What would those be?
If JMHS decided to move in this direction what would be some of your concerns? Would you be comfortable with this move towards more integration of technology in all of your classes? What skills would need to be taught for the school to be successful in this new world?

ReplyDeleteIts would be warm and inviting. We would have the advantage of having laptops and many other things. I think a disadvantage would be kids messing around when we should be working. There are so many advantages though. I would love for the classrooms to be redone and updated. I learn better in a calm environment.
ReplyDeletei would want my school to have better tecnology =) because we dont really have good computers and stuff like that. also i would want our school to be more inviting. for example more activities that students want to do,, yu know?? cuz not everyone likes music.and that prettymuch what we have..so thats pretty much it

ReplyDeleteSchooll have better techonology would be great the computer are not the best and if everyone had there own labtop to use so nothing could get lost of the computer. disadvantage would that not all kids would be using that labtops for there purpose

ReplyDeleteThe advantages of having a higher tech classroom would outweigh the disadvantages. We would have unlimited access of information, therefore not limiting us. Books cannot be updated, unlike information online can. The only disadvantage of this would be kids messing around online. But that's not a major problem since teachers can just glance at a screen to see if the student is messing around or not. I personally would be more comfortable to this type of change.
ReplyDeleteIt would definantly be a better learning environment!! The advantages i think, would be having our own labtops & stuff like that. JMHS classrooms really need to be updated & redone.

ReplyDeleteThe school would be a richer place with more learning and communication between different people. However this would require a whole new set of skills which we do not yet have, or at least most of us don't. We'd need to learn how to more effectively use the Internet's wide variety of resources. i would be fairly comfortable with a hybrid classroom, though we'd still need a computers class to help us to learn about how to use the programs we'd need in the business world, like word and excel. But for now a hybrid classroom is an excellent idea
ReplyDeletethere would be a lot more tech stuff in the class and all around us(laptops, flash drives, basic computer attachments like headphone, microphones, etc.) but the concern for all this technology is students that deface school property and dont use them wisely. another concern is being able to use it for what we need it. the central data system has most websites blocked so it is almost pointless. the advantages are that we can use them for homework and save our documents and not have to waste time at home searching for a computer to use

ReplyDeleteAn advantage of a Hybrid class would being able to work with people who are not around, you could work with teachers who aren't nearby, if a teacher were sick they could still tell you how to do things while they were at home but you were at school. A disadvantage of this would be students would maybe drift away from work and just mess around on the internet, but with such good students like us that would not be a problem ;) It would be awesome to have JMHS move toward this. I believe it would be a great idea!

ReplyDeleteOur classroom would be more home like. It would be more enjoyable as well because it wouldn't be such a stressful situation. The advantages we would have would be being able to have laptops in the class or computers. Some of the disadvantages would be kids messing around on the internet and not doing what they are supposed to. I would like it better if our classrooms had more technological opportunities. I like being able to do more work with technology and I find that I learn better. If we had laptops in the classroom we wouldn't have to worry about getting blamed if the computer is messed up or something isn't working the way that it is supposed to. I wish that we could have our classrooms redone, it would be better and help benefit our learning.
ReplyDeleteIn this school things are little for example when you walk into a classroom (it varies with each teacher) you may feel welcome then again you could get a look that says get out. But this isn't the main problem it's the fact that we have technology in the school that is inefficient for the students needs towards technology. When you first try to turn on the computer it takes forever in a day to start, making it harder to get assignments done. We need a good deal of things but we could live with more efficient help from the half broken down computers.
ReplyDeletei think it would be pretty kewl beans to have better tecnology, beacuse we would learn how to use them in school so we can use them outside of school. and we really need faster computers and internet that doesnt have EVERYTHING blocked, if we had to use this kind of tecnology every day in all our classes i think we would get the computers we need and the internet we need, but if the computers ever went down, or ever the internet ... we would be S.O.L beacuse we wouldnt be able to do well thats the only disadvantage
ReplyDeleteMy firt advantage to make my school be all high tech. Our own laptops, faster internet, and much nicer looking computers. NICER CLEANER CLASSROOMS. more RESPECTFUL TEACHERS!!!!. . . Hmmm. . .Umm. . Dont let any of the kids graftti our walls, bathrooms, or any of our school property. I also think they should remodle our school so it dont look so crappy like it already does. We want our school to look nice and well taken care of when other schoools come to our school so we look like were a nice school. Not no poor school. . .If we actually had our rown laptops i would consider me doing ALL MY WORK. I woiuld actually be passing my classes right now. So for JMHS, i think we need too update everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei would want our school to have better computers.only because our computers now suck..we also need to have better activities for the kids who do not play sports can do..not band because not everyone likes to do that.we also need to have better lunches..they are being stash with the food..this school needs color cause white is boring..we also need more school spirit all over our school even in the gym. we also need to have fun ways to learn.we need to have nice supplies to work with...they need to hire nice teachers who will actually work with you and leave their attitudes at home..there r some teachers here who actuall y help..this would all make our school better...if we had labtops we would actually participate more in work and on things that need to be done.
ReplyDeleteRight now our school is using the oldest books we have from when OUR parents used to go to school.. thats the past, its not preparing us for our future. The technology now will prepare us for the real world.. Not only will we be learning it, but we will be enjoying it at the same time.. =D

ReplyDeleteI think it would be awesome. Most of the people in this school know how to use a computer now so all we would need would be the resources. Depending on the students, i think that it would be taken care of.
ReplyDeletei would be very happy if our school took this turn. not only would we be preparing for our future but we would also become more fluent in the language that the whole world is learning to speak...technology!
ReplyDeleteIf John Mall started working like this im sure alot more kids would enjoy school. Ifi had to choose between Using our computers or writing mytself...I would choose the computer. It would make learning alot more fun, in many diffrent ways.This would be inviting and interesting. Something diffrent.
ReplyDeletemaking jmhs hybrid would be awsome! but a dis-advantage would be is that it wont be cheap to do. cause for starters we will need new computers cause these are really outdated and almost obsolete and can sometimes be difficult to work with.

ReplyDeleteTo have this school go technological would be some kind of a miracle... I would be overjoyed, we would be getting all of the things we would need for our future careers and lives. The world is getting what we here need--Technology. We should embrace the fact we live in such a sophisticated world.
